Airplane Balance Sculpture - A Victorian Era Reproduction

Product Description
Airplane Décor: Our Pilot Balance Sculpture is more than just a great decor. The airplane pilot balance sculpture is also a whimsical gift for anyone that enjoys unique collectibles. This is an authentic reproduction of a balance figure from the Victorian era. Ojects that inspired and demonstrating aspects of science were popular during Victorian times. People loved figures doing things that seemed impossible. These balance figures were originally called skyhooks, simple counter-weighted figures which could be set on a shelf or the rim of a table, and set in motion to everybody’s delight and amusement. When put in motion the rocking plane will stay balanced on its base and the pilot moves in the cockpit as if experiencing the natural air currents.
Even better is that this
limited edition sculpture is now hand crafted from recycled metal. The piece starts by being hand forged and is colorfully hand painted. In the final step of production it is then hand waxed to give the sculpture a warm, subtle shine. The airplane measures about 10 ˝" nose to tail with a 9" wingspan, and the sculpture about 16 ˝" high. The Barnstorming Pilot Sculpture arrives with a numbered metal tag confirming that it is made in a limited number.
