40" Decorative Wood Airplane Propeller

Airplane Propeller Décor: This Decorative Wood Airplane Propeller is marvelously crafted from solid mahogany wood (plantation grown). The leading edges of the Decorative Wood Airplane Propeller feature hand-hammered brass to add to its authentic look. In the early days of flight when grass landing strips were the norm, pilots protected their propellers with metal edges so they would not be damaged by the windblown stones and small loose rocks. A few nicks and antiquing make this propeller look like it just came off a World War I era airplane. Hanging hardware is included and the propeller measures about 40" long and 5.5" at the widest part of the blade. Shipping weight is calculated at 5 lbs.
