Airplane Décor – This 8 foot 1917 decorative airplane propeller is an impressive aviation accent piece. It looks absolutely stunning hung on a wall, propped in a corner, or placed over the fireplace hearth. Handmade with solid mahogany wood it is a replica of propellers flown on biplanes during the early years of aviation. In those bygone days most airstrips were grass fields. Stones would kick up with the rotation of the propeller and damage the leading edge. This lead to the introduction of a protective covering for the propeller blades. We’ve added brass edging on the leading edge of the blade to enhance and keep the authentic look of the propeller. An antique finish in hand rubbed on the propeller to add to the aged look and a crown logo is etched into the front of each blade.
